Mallorca 140.6 Triathlon in Playa de Muro

Playa de Muro will be the setting for the only long distance triathlon on the island of Mallorca on the 24th of September 2022. The Mallorca 140.6 Triathlon is back and we give you all the details below.
General data of the Mallorca 140.6 Triathlon
The Mallorca 140.6 is one of the most popular middle and long distance competitions on the Balearic Island, with an increasing number of participants every year.
The 2022 edition will take place on the 24th of September in the north of Mallorca and will have a capacity for 1000 triathletes. The places will be divided into 600 for the full “Ironman” version and an additional 400 for the middle distance version.
In addition, the 2022 Mallorca 140.6 will pay tribute to the pioneers of the competition with the Vintage category, in which 50 athletes will be able to participate in each of the available distances.
Registration at the Mallorca 140.6 in Playa de Muro
Registration for the Triathlon is now open with a limit of 1000 participants from the official website of the event. If you are interested in participating, you must formalize it until Sunday 11 September.
Registration fees for the Mallorca race vary depending on the distance and format chosen, starting at 250€ for the half distance, up to 550€ for the full version.
Circuits of the Mallorca 140.6
Being a triathlon competition, the Mallorca 140.6 has three independent courses. The first is a swimming course, the second is a bike course and the third is a running or running course.
All of them share the same setting in the north of the island of Mallorca, in the Bay of Alcudia, where Playa de Muro is located. This year it was named the best beach in Spain and the third best in Europe.
Swimming Circuit
The swimming part of the Mallorca 140.6 consists of an open water swimming course in Playa de Muro.
The marked circuit has a distance of 1,900 m, so those registered for the half distance will have to complete it only once and those registered for the full distance will have to complete it twice.

In order to continue with the next part of the triathlon, it must be completed before the cut-off time (09:00h for the first lap and 10:20h for the closing swim and the transition zone between races).
Cyclist Circuit
The second part of the full version of the Mallorca 140.6 consists of 178 km on a circuit of 89 km, so participants of the full triathlon will have to complete two full laps.
The start of the cycling circuit is also in Playa de Muro (where the swimming part ends).
The route passes through the Mallorcan towns of Muro, Santa Margalida, Maria de la Salut, Ariany, Sineu, Llubí, Sa Pobla and Alcúdia. Along the route, cyclists will find three complete refreshment posts at approximately kilometres 30, 60 and 85.

The cut-off times for this part of the competition will be 13:10h for the half distance and 18:00h for the 140.6 (14:20 for the first lap).

Running Circuit
The third and last part of the Mallorca 140.6 consists of a 42 km run. Therefore, to complete it, those registered for the full version will have to run six laps of the 7 km urban circuit (and 3 laps for the half distance).

As in the cycling circuit, the running part will have free refreshment posts for participants. One at approximately km 2.5 and another at km 7.
Exhibitors’ area
For all participants and visitors of the Mallorca 140.6 an exhibition area will be set up next to the start of the race.
This exhibitor area will be open from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th with the following opening hours:
Thursday and Friday: 10h to 18h
Saturday: 10h to 20h
Sunday: 10h to 14h
